Hi Readers and Writers!
Here is a link to your reading log for this week:
Reading Log Due October 6th
Remember to read your books like they are gold and to keep your reading goal for this week in mind. The only way we can become experts at reading is to set clear goals and work hard to achieve them!
Your small moment stories are really coming along nicely. I can't wait until we publish our books.
Have a wonderful week!
Love,
Mrs. Gati
As we enter a new year
together, think of your life as a reader so far.
When has reading been fantastic for you?
When I think of a time when
reading has been fantastic for me, my mind immediately thinks of when I was in
elementary school. I picture myself being snuggled in my bed on a chilly
winter evening. The lamp on my bedside table is letting off a soft glow
in the corner of the room. I'm reading one of the Goosebumps series.
I picture this, because I remember being really into the book, imagining
the characters and settings. I love reading because it transports me to
different times and places. I feel like I'm a million miles away even if
I'm sitting in my own bedroom!
What do you love to read?
I love to read historical
fiction! Any novel that takes place in an important time in history is
interesting to me.
How can you push yourself as a reader?
As a good reader, we don't
just think of times that reading has been fantastic for us. We also think
about what we can do to make ourselves even better readers. I know I love
reading fiction, especially historical fiction. I read the best when I enjoy
what I'm reading. Sometimes, as readers, we must read things that someone
else tells us to read. Usually the types of books that other people want
you to read are informational books. I know that I can push myself to
read more informational books so I can practice using nonfiction reading
strategies.
